Project Overview

AboutThe purpose of reconfiguring the traffic rotary is to improve traffic flows by providing higher speed by-pass movement that result in a right existing movement and reduce existing two lane configuration conflicts.  Traffic analysis of accident from this area indicate changes will reduce injury accidents without a need to add traffic signals that impede traffic flows and increase commute times.

Scope: Design and construct improvements to the existing rotary traffic circle at the intersection of Pearland Parkway and McHard to provide a more conventional geometry with a two lane roundabout with an outside by-pass lane designed for higher speeds for the right-turn movements. The project will also install sidewalks to connect existing gaps and provide pedestrian connectivity.

Residents can also register to reveive project updates through the City’s e-notification system Everbridge.  Project information is often available through the City’s FaceBook page, Twitter and Instagram accounts as well.  We encourage residents and property owners’ to sign up for the e-alerts and information, please contact Fatema Weekly, Project Manager, at fweekly@pearlandtx.gov

This project is part of the 2019 Bond referendum.
