City staff provide a variety of important services to Pearland residents on a daily basis, which both ensure public safety and improve the quality of life in the community. When disaster strikes, however, the work of City staff becomes critical to the wellbeing of the community, and the Office of Emergency Management mobilize with City staff to provide life-saving and humanitarian assistance to Pearland residents in their time of greatest need.

 

"If we are to provide timely, safe and effective disaster relief; we must each be prepared," said Peter Martin, Pearland's Emergency Management Coordinator. "This requires an individual and informed commitments to disaster preparedness training, proficiency with disaster response duties and responsibilities, and a dedication to seamless teamwork in support of collective efforts to enhance readiness of City staff, facilities, and resources. 

"Our mission as public servants is to work together to more effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disaster in our community, and thereby alleviate human suffering, prevent needless loss of life, and restore normalcy as quickly as possible."
