Permits Required:  The Permits and Inspections Division regulates work on private property within the city limits of Pearland. Construction permits are required to build a new structure, add an addition to an existing structure, remodel an existing structure, repair an existing structure or work on the mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing systems associated with a structure.

The Engineering and Public Works departments regulate work in city easements and in the public rights-of-way within the city limits of Pearland. 

To find out if your project is within the city limits you can search the property on our GIS Map by following the link below.  If you are still unable to determine if you are within the city limits or you want to see if your proposed use will be compliant with zoning regulations please follow the link below to our Planning Division page for additional information or you may call 281.652.1765.  The permit and inspection process will ensure your project is in substantial compliance with city codes and ordinances and protect your investment in our community. 

Obtaining a Permit:  The City of Pearland uses eTRAKiT for its online permitting process. Through eTRAKiT you can register as a contractor which will allow you to submit permit applications, upload plans for review, follow review comments, print your permit after approval, schedule inspections, view inspection results and pay all applicable fees. Homeowners:  Hard copies of applications can be found by following the Online Forms link below.  You can submit completed applications and pay all fees in person at the Permit Counter located at 3523 Liberty Dr., Pearland, TX 77581.
