The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), an extensive financial review of the City, is carried out by independent auditors and receives approval from the Pearland City Council each year. This report marks the end of the City's Fiscal Year, which concludes on September 30th.

As of FY 2021, the City has consistently received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), a recognition it has held for 46 years.

The Popular Annual Financial Report serves as an addendum to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, offering a summary of the City's financial operations. The City of Pearland has been honored three times with the Government Finance Officers Association's (GFOA) Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award.
