About.  In 2015, the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) selected the Clear Creek Trail project application for funding in its Call for Projects under the TAP.  The Texas Transportation Commission, in Minute Order 115291 dated August 30, 2018, awarded funding for the projects included in the 2015 TAP Call for Projects including the Clear Creek Trail project.

The trail extends the recently completed segment of the Clear Creek Trail system from Hughes Road to the University of Houston - Clear Lake Pearland Campus (UHCL).

Scope.  The AFA defines the scope of work, the City's and TxDOT's responsibilities, and sources of funding.  Design and construction of approximately 12,400 linear feet of ten-foot wide concrete bicycle and pedestrian off-road trail that will run along the east bank of Clear Creek from the existing developer built trail north to connect into El Franco Lee Park, cross Clear Creek via pedestrian bridge to the west bank and continue north then east under the Pearland Parkway Bridge, then turn south along the west side of Pearland Parkway, terminating at the University of Houston Clear Lake - Pearland Campus.

The project is an extension of the Trail Master Plan and is intended to tie in to existing and future segments to provide a safe off-street alternative transportation route for bicyclists and pedestrians.
