Personnel: There are always 6 personnel on duty ready to respond and help the residents of Pearland.

Station History:  

Originally located at 1789 Broadway near the east-side water tower in a 2-bay barn exactly where the Auto Zone sits today. this barn was the exact same as Firehouse 2's barn with a small office and restroom.

In 2013, construction began for a new Fire Station 3 at 3207 Yost at Broadway. This firehouse symbolized the much needed upgrades the Fire Department and the community needed. Station 3 was the first of a 2-house build that would bring state-of-the-art facilities to Pearland. Standing at two stories, this firehouse was the first firehouse to have a watch office. Watch offices are a long-standing tradition in a firehouse, where a firefighter is assigned to “keep watch” by greeting any citizens, announcing when other members or dignitaries are in the house, and ensuring that the crew catches all the information on the run they are on.

Station 3 is particularly unique for being laid out in a different shape than any other firehouse in the city. Several trees on Station 3 property were deemed Century Trees, which are trees that came from the Yost family when they lived in the house adjacent to the firehouse. (The house is no longer there).  To preserve the Century Trees, the dorm room wing had to be put at a 55-degree angle to the building instead of a 90-degree angle.

This firehouse includes:

• Gym
• Storage room on the second floor with state-of-the-art equipment
• Purvis alerting system
• 10 individual dorms with large lockers to keep uniforms, bedding, and other essentials.
• Watch office
• Closed-off Bunker Gear storage area to keep the gear out of the sun and exhaust from the apparatuses that ultimately break the gear down.
