Each year, the first week in May is recognized as National Correctional Officers and Employees Week. The City thanks the Pearland City Jail staff for carrying out a vital support service.

POLICE SEEK ASSISTANCE WITH MISSING PERSON
The morning of April 27, 2016, the Pearland Police Department was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked in the 3500 block of Buckholt. Officers arrived and found an unoccupied and unlocked vehicle belonging to Pablo Irlas, a 35-year-old male.

ALERT CITIZEN HELPS CATCH HOME BURGLARS
On April 26, 2016, a resident in the area of 2200 Cedar reported suspicious circumstances involving two males in a silver vehicle. The caller didn't recognize the vehicle or the men and called police.

On April 22, 2016, at 6:48 p.m. a male suspect robbed the Advance America located at 3225 Broadway St. in Pearland.

CONSTRUCTION ON SPORTS COMPLEX AT SHADOW CREEK RANCH TO BE COMPLETE THIS SUMMER
Construction on the Sports Complex at Shadow Creek Ranch is scheduled to be complete this June which will put the facility on schedule for Fall play.

POLICE CAPTURE ROBBERY SUSPECT
The three-time robbery suspect in Pearland Aggravated Robbery cases was found and arrested on Thursday, April 21 at a Shell Gas Station near Cullen Blvd. and Beltway 8.

SUSPECT SOUGHT IN WEST PEARLAND GAS STATION ROBBERIES
The suspect has committed three gas station robberies in west Pearland. In each incident, he approaches the cashier, asking to pay for a drink. When the cashier opens the register, the suspect displays a pistol and demands money.

FIRE SPRINKLER SAVES PEARLAND APARTMENT BUILDING
The Pearland Fire Department responded to a report of a cooking fire located on the patio of an apartment unit in the 2500 block of Business Center Drive on Wednesday, April 6. Upon arriving, fire department officials discovered that the fire had been extinguished by a fire sprinkler system installed on the patio of the unit where the fire began.
