The Pearland Police Department is committed to providing professional, high-quality services to all persons and does not tolerate misconduct or wrongdoing on the part of its members. The Pearland Police Department prides itself on delivering the best possible service to the citizens of Pearland. If you have witnessed exceptional service by one of our members that you feel deserves to be recognized, please contact us with your compliment. If you believe that you have been subjected to police misconduct of any type, you are encouraged to report the incident to the Pearland Police Department.

Compliments and Complaints may be registered in-person, over the telephone, by mail, email or fax; however, pursuant to Texas Government Code 614.022 complaints must be in writing and signed by the person making the complaint.

The Professional Standards Division investigates incidents of alleged misconduct or violations of the department’s policies or procedures.

The Professional Standards Division will NOT investigate any complaint regarding the validity of a traffic citation or appropriateness of any charges filed in connection with a police investigation. The appropriate venue to dispute tickets/charges is the court of record.

To file a compliment or a complaint:

In Person:
Compliments and complaints may be filed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the Pearland Public Safety Building, 2555 Cullen, Pearland, Texas 77581 (North/Police side of building).
Request to speak with an on-duty supervisor.
Relay the circumstances of the compliment or complaint to the supervisor.
Complete and sign a written statement (if applicable).
Note: To facilitate the process, you may also download a Citizen Complaint Form, fill it out and drop it off at the police station to the attention of “Professional Standards.”

By Phone:
Call the police department at 281.997.4100.
Request to speak with the on-duty supervisor. Please note that you will likely be asked for your name and call-back number as duty supervisors are usually on patrol. Unless an emergency exists, expect a call within two hours.
Relay the circumstances of the compliment or complaint to the supervisor.
Provide a means to receive a statement form (if applicable).
Complete and return the signed statement (if applicable).

By Mail:
For compliments: Write a letter with the details and circumstances of the incident.
For complaints: Download a Citizen Complaint Form. Detail the nature and circumstances of the incident and the specific complaint.
Sign and date the form.
Mail the letter or form to: Professional Standards Division, Pearland Police Department, 2555 Cullen Pkwy, Pearland, Texas 77581.

By Email:
Send an email to the Professional Standards Division. Follow the instructions you receive in reply. 

By Fax:

For compliments: Write a letter with the details and circumstances of the incident.
For complaints: Download a Citizen Complaint Form.
Detail the nature and circumstances of the incident and the specific complaint.
Sign and date the form.

Regardless of the method of complaint, please include the following:

  • The date, time and location of the incident
  • The officer’s name, badge number and/or description
  • Any witness’ name and phone number
  • License numbers for any vehicles involved in the incident
  • Any other items you feel may be important, such as copies of traffic tickets, photographs, medical records, etc. If you have injuries, please include their nature and extent.

Remember, it is very important to file the complaint as soon as possible in the event photographs or other evidence can be obtained quickly.
