Pearland Fire Department prides itself on educating the community on injury and fire prevention. The Community Outreach division offers our community several classes and events. These are subject to availability, call volume, and scheduling. To schedule an outreach event, fill out the applications below or contact our business office to learn more.

CPR, First Aid Courses
Pearland Fire Department now offers online CPR (Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) courses.  To learn more, please see our Training for Citizens or Training for Healthcare Providers (BLS) in the links below.

Child Safety Seats
Pearland Fire Department holds car seat safety inspections by appointment only each month from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Fire Extinguisher Training
This class is only offered to businesses and includes a didactic presentation and a skills training. The class consists of smoke alarm maintenance, fire extinguisher classifications, and the PASS method for using a fire extinguisher. Hands-on skills will be conducted with the Bullex panel, which is a fire extinguisher simulator.

Public Appearance
Upon advanced notice, members of the Pearland Fire Department can appear at your event, such as health fairs, career days, school fairs, and church bazaars. Members will demonstrate fire prevention best practices. Please note, PFD sets aside time for independent school districts in October for fire prevention. We are not able to attend day cares, charter schools or Mother's Day Out Programs.

Who can Schedule Events

Pearland ISD, Pasadena ISD and Alvin ISD that are located within PFD's emergency response area. When scheduling a public appearance for one if the Independent School Districts the request MUST be for grades 3rd and up. All other grades can schedule a station tour between the hours of 9am-3pm.

Events not Approved
As much as we would love to attend every event it is possible for us to do so for a factor of reasons. We cannot attend birthday parties, parades, events at a residence or business. All requests are scheduled on a first come first serve basis and please be understanding that there will be times we will deny a request due to scheduling conflicts, staffing, weather, or other reasons that the PFD staff may deem necessary to deny or cancel.
