Food Service License Renewal Process for 2024

Please note that Food Service Licenses for 2023 will expire on December 31, 2023.

All businesses will be required to obtain a Food Service License must renew for 2024. These include, restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, schools and daycares, and all brick-and-mortar businesses that sell either cooked or pre-packaged food.

Beginning October 1, 2022, the City of Pearland will offer the convenience of online license renewals!

Instructions for Online Food License Renewal

APPLICATION DETAILS 

Applications for renewals will be accepted from October 1, 2023 - January 17, 2024. 

We are also accepting City of Pearland license renewal applications for 2023 by the following methods:

  • In-Person - The Permits Department is located at 3523 Liberty Drive, Pearland, TX 77581
  • By mail to our Permits Department. Mail must be postmarked prior to January 16th, 2022.
  • Drop off your application with payment at the City’s receptionist desk located at City Hall, 3519 Liberty Drive, Pearland, TX 77581.

Please note that application fees may have changed. Please visit the Food Service License Application for rates. If you know your current health license, please note it on the application.

All mailed applications will be date stamped with the date they are received.

  • * A late penalty fee will be applied to any application received after Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
  • * If mailing your application and you want to pay by credit card, please include a note with the application that includes your request along with your contact phone number. Once your application is processed, a Permits department staff member will call you for your credit card information. 

To make your payment please contact Permits & Inspections at permits@pearlandtx.gov or 281.652.1638. We accept Master Card, Visa, and Discover. Checks and money orders are also welcomed but must be sent with mail-in application(s).

Temporary Food Establishments 

Applications and required documents including a labeled floor plan, menu, and food handler and/or manager certifications must be submitted to the Permits office at least five (5) days prior to event for review and approval. A permit must be obtained before temporary establishment may open or operate. Temporary food permits will be valid for one year and will expire the last day of the twelfth (12th) month after issuance.

Permit Fee: $75

Attach a detailed description of the operation. Include any source(s) of food items (including purchasing location), methods of food transportation, preparation process and location, food holding temperatures, and sanitation or cleaning procedures. 

Permit must be on premises while operating at any event.
