Pearland residents are generally as satisfied as they were two years ago with life in Pearland according to a biennial independent research survey conducted by the National Research Center. 88 percent of residents feel the quality of life in Pearland is good or excellent and residents overwhelmingly feel that Pearland is a good/excellent place to live.

Fire Chief Vance Riley was awarded the Governor’s EMS and Trauma Advisory Council’s 2016 Journey of Excellence Award for “his leadership and dedication to the Texas EMS/Trauma System.” The award was presented by Chairman Dr. Robert Greenberg at the Texas EMS Conference in Dallas this past November.

The Pearland Fire Department responded to a report of a cooking fire located on the patio of an apartment unit in the 2500 block of Business Center Drive on Wednesday, April 6. Upon arriving, fire department officials discovered that the fire had been extinguished by a fire sprinkler system installed on the patio of the unit where the fire began.
