The Pearland Fire Department is responsible for fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue, fire investigation, and inspections within its jurisdiction. The goal of the department is to provide for the safety and health of citizens within the City of Pearland and its Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). 

PFD provides 24-hour service to the citizens of Pearland and responds to more than 10,000 calls for service per year. Serving one of the fastest growing cities in Texas at an area of over 75 square miles with a population of more than 130,000, PFD has evolved from a volunteer department to a career department, supplemented by part-time employees, staffing six stations 24/7/365.
