Purpose
To ensure that planning and construction activities within the City of Pearland and its extra-territorial jurisdiction are in accordance with the City's standards, codes, and practices.

Services to the Community 
The engineering division reviews plats, construction plans, drainage reports, traffic reports, and provides construction inspection services. The engineering division is also responsible for updating the City's design guidelines, standard details, specifications, and relevant ordinances. These ordinances include serving the community for floodplain administration, and implementing a stormwater management program.  

Mission Statement
The department is committed to implementing best practices in the development, management, and maintenance of the public infrastructure to provide the best quality of life for residents, visitors, and businesses in the City of Pearland. We aim to be proactive, effective, and efficient in our customer service, both internally and externally, by rigorously enforcing our development, building construction, health, and property maintenance codes and ordinances.
