When trees grow into power lines, they can cause power outages and create safety hazards for you and your neighbors. The City of Pearland encourages residents to plant responsibly. When planting near distribution power lines, be sure to select trees that have a short mature and spread that will not interfere with nearby power lines. Homeowners should keep trees away from electric meter service lines to avoid damage from falling limbs during adverse weather.
