Note to Owners:  It is the permit holder’s responsibility to coordinate the day of the inspection with the owner and schedule the inspection for that day. On the day of the inspection the permit holder or owner may call 281.652.1638 between 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. to speak with the assigned inspector to get a time frame for when the inspector will be there. A special inspection can be requested for an additional fee for same day or after hour’s inspections contingent on inspector availability. 

In order to facilitate your construction project we accept inspection request as late as possible and make as many inspections a day as needed.   As a result the inspectors do not know the number of inspections or the route they will take until the morning of the inspection.  This does not allow us the ability for scheduling specific times but if one is needed we asked that you call and we will do our best to accommodate your request. 

Scheduling Inspections: All inspection requests must be scheduled via eTRAKiT before 4 p.m. in order to be placed on the roster for the following business day. All inspection requests received after 4 p.m. will be scheduled in two business days. An exception to this rule is made for owner occupied electrical and gas reconnects as inspection request are taken up until 12:00 p.m.via the main number, 281.652.1638, the day of the inspection.

Inspection Results:  Upon completion of the inspection a green sticker will be left for an approved inspection and a red sticker will be left for an unapproved inspection with a list of the corrections needed.  Stickers will be placed as close as possible to the front door of the structure or a designated location if one is provided.  Results are also posted online and can be viewed by the permit holder at the end of the day via eTRAKiT. 

Canceling Inspections: Cancellations can be requested up until the inspection is made by calling 281.652.1638. Once the inspection is made any re-inspection fees, if applicable, will be required to be paid before additional inspections can be requested.
