The Pearland Police Department DDACTS (Data-Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety) Unit is a law enforcement operational unit that integrates location-based crime and traffic crash data to determine the most effective methods for deploying resources. Using geo-mapping to identify “hot spot” areas of high incidence of crimes and crashes, DDACTS uses targeted traffic enforcement strategies that fight crime and reduce crashes/traffic violations. The Pearland Police Department DDACTS Unit currently has five pro-active Police Officers assigned to it.
